"Ideas you believe are absurd ultimately lead to a success." Spent today, the first day of the (lunar) new year at the Nam June Paik Center. Wonderfully designed museum dedicated to world renowned video artist/activist Nam Jun Paik. The museum also features new works of video and film projects from current cutting edge artists.
If I had a chon won for every time I've heard one of my kindergarten or elementary students sing "heyyyy, sexy lady! Oppa Gangnam Style" I could retire from hagwon teaching for life! I went to see Psy's free "victory concert" in the City Hall area of Seoul with 80,000 other Seoulites. I couldn't resist seeing the hometown crowd and hometown hero love it up. The concert began with the crowd singing the National Anthem (as the international success of this song was a big moment in Korean history). Personally, Iove it that the song that sparked a worldwide dance craze is, in part, a parody aimed at the disjointed aspects of opulence and excess. The show was a good time with Psy singing all the crowd pleasers from his 12 year career.
